MAX TPerhaps one of his biggest challenges yet accomplishments came when he was up against his father at the 1991 Country Music Awards (CMA) for “Song of the Year”. They were the first and only father/son competition ever in the CMA’s. However, Max’s dad took home the award that night for “Look at Us”, co-written with Vince Gill. Max was extremely proud of his father, but he did not stop for a minute.

Max T. went on to acquire additional awards and song writing credits for music from Ralph Stanley to Montgomery Gentry, and from Poison to George Jones. Among his singles are two Joe Diffie hits, “A Night to Remember” and “Tougher than Nails”, as well as the title song and single from the Billboard #4 Comedy album, “We The People” by Ray Stevens.

Max’s successful career has been supported by his wife Robin, also known as “The Chief”, his children Riley and Etta, and a host of great friends and associates. Today he continues to write, produce, manage his late father’s publishing empire, and help new songwriters and artist with Backwoods Recording Studio providing Song Critiques and Artist Consultations.
